I am responsible of a team of six for the management and implementation of the South Carolina government labor exchange system, South Carolina Works Online Services (SCWOS) – https://jobs.scworks.org.  This system is used by jobseekers, staff members, employers, and providers to post jobs, handle all aspects of case management, and produce federal reports for the Wagner-Peyser, Workforce Investment Act, and Trade Adjustment Assistance Act workforce programs.  I ensure the system processes database information efficiently, I assist in training in the use of SCWOS, and I work with other state and local level program directors to ensure the system is meeting the needs of the public workforce community.

Professional Tidbits

I coordinated a significant change for South Carolina in the Trade Adjustment Assistance act when a new extension in the act went into effect on December 2011.  Prior to working in the Performance and Reporting Unit, I started at this agency as a case manager for the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program for the Midlands region of South Carolina.

Prior to the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce, I was a Benefits Counselor for the South Carolina Retirement Systems advising state pension members about their active and retiree benefits in state government.
